Web promotion adopts effective "Pull" marketing approach

Imagine a website that downloads quickly, is easy to navigate, has compelling products & content, strong visual appeal & impact, and fits well with your company image/branding.

Sounds perfect? All of those things are essential, but such a website in and of itself is likely to achieve very little. Is that not a bold, even crazy statement from the lips of a web design company? Let us explain.

In the housing market an estate agent will tell you that what counts is location, location and location. For a website it is, as one internet marketing expert put it, "position, position and position".

Website Promotion - the importance of the Search Engines

Independent research shows that 85% of website visitors arrive at a website from a search engine. That proves that search engines are important, but the fact that - 93% of users do not look beyond the 1st 20 search engine results (normally first 2 pages) - focuses the mind even further! Hence, the reason for our focus on promotion.

There are a whole range of techniques which we employ to gain a high ranking 1st page position for your website, which must be built into the design process right from the start, as opposed to being tagged on at the end.

You may come across offers to submit your site to 000's of search engines. However, the fact is that 85-90% of all UK search engine traffic is accounted for by the top 10 or so search engines, with the main players being;

::
  Google
::
  Alta Vista
::
  MSN
::
  Wanadoo
::
  Yahoo
::
  Lycos
::
  Ask Jeeves
::
  AOL
::
  Tiscali
::
  YELL

We understand the complex and ever changing relationships between the different search engines and directories, thus we ensure maximum search engine exposure for your website and avoid duplication of investment.

Website Promotion - "Pull" as opposed to "Push" Marketing

If you think of many forms of marketing, such as advertising in magazines, newspapers, or direct mail campaigns, whilst you select target audiences that you have profiled as being potential customers, they may or may not be looking for your products/services at that specific point of time. Also, they may never be a hot prospect for a number of reasons e.g. have a long standing relationship with an existing supplier.

This approach is what we call "push marketing".

The search engines turn the equation the other way round, and enable you to put your business name & offering in front of those who are currently actively seeking for your products/services. This is a very significant difference.

This approach is what we term "pull marketing". Response and conversion rates are higher, as you are targeting your marketing budget on those who have already expressed an interest in what you offer.
